Today we did something either incredible or stupid. It’s all about your point of view and what you think of the above picture!
Before I go any further, just a note to say thank you to all who commented on my anniversary post. Yesterday was a really good day and dinner was delicious. The only problem, inflation has hit hard at this restaurant. Big time. It’s was never inexpensive, but wow. The drinks and the meal were more than I expected. Much more. We may be looking for a new place to celebrate our anniversary because we aren’t those people who can just walk in and drop serious money on a meal.

But that’s not we are here today!

That’s the question, isn’t it?? ๐ We’ve been looking for a camper since last summer when we took our trip to Boston. I (not we says my wife) started looking at “inexpensive” campers. We went to visit some friends in Minneapolis and one of those campers was up there, so we stopped to see it. Needless to say, we did not come back with it. It was gross, smelled like an outhouse, and was a rolling group of problems we wanted no part of.
#ewwwww
I know. So, we started searching. Online, Facebook Marketplace, all over. Nothing. I tend to move a little (ok a lot) slower than my wife when looking to invest a big chunk of money. She got frustrated with me and kind of gave up, but I kept looking. In January, there was a RV show in Cedar Falls, so we went and looked. We both got excited about the idea of a camper and I got out of the “inexpensive camper” mindset. The new ones we looked at were nice, and it got us a price range we were comfortable with in our budget.

Ok, not quite that, but yet, yes. We were both willing to see what we could it. Enter Facebook Marketplace again. I had a former parent who was looking to sell his camper. It was in our budget so we messaged him and went to see it. It is a used camper, but it is a better camper than those we were looking at. I hate the whole negotiations thing, but I kept bringing things up about ideas we’d need. He kept throwing things in until I really had no negotiating power left! But we did have a really nice camper! ๐

Yes! So, we are planning all the little trips we can possibly make right now, with the idea that we’ll get some test runs in before summer. If things go well, who knows?
The idea brings us joy and right now, that’s a big thing. The more we can focus on the positives, the more we keep the junk thoughts from the world around us out of our minds.
And who knows, we may like it so much that it becomes our home away from home.

True. It’s just fun to dream.

I love the hashtag “chapter” headers! I vote your purchase as “incredible!”

Oh my gosh…this is awesome! Baby steps to retirement! And it has a potty on board for midnight runs that won’t consist of trekking across the campground to the bathroom! Congratulations. This will open up a whole new genre of story ideas, beginning with this one! ๐

Haha! The scary part about your comment, Debbie, is that I’m planning so much with this stupid thing! Blogging, Youtubing, maybe even a TikTok or two! I’m so excited about it! ๐

That’s the best! Over plan, then no matter what you do…you’ll be successful! ๐
