I’m sorry, friends.
I’ve been a horrid writer.
In doing so, I’ve been a horrid online friend.
It’s hard to make connections when you are never on the site where some of those friendships started.
It’s hard to make connections when the connections started because of words on a screen. When those words don’t appear, it’s hard to stay around.
I had a friend who called her husband “Magic Mike” because of his ability to keep the friendships and relationships going, even when people moved or things got tough.
I feel like I used to be that way. I could keep the conversation going. I could keep the friendship intact, even when friends moved and things got hard.
Now, I’m just tired. My head is tired. My legs are tired. My brain is tired. But, most of all, my heart is tired.
So, I wish I could say I’ll do better; I really do. And 10 years back, I could follow through on that statement. Now, I’m just not sure.
We’ll see where this all goes.
Hopefully, that joy of words, writing, and sharing will come back.
And if not, I’ll take my role as the NPC (Non-player character for those not hip with the lingo!) and just be in the background. Steady. Reliable. There with a smile, a laugh, a joke. But always wondering.
A little black rain cloudy for a Monday morning, but here we are!
