This week, we have taken our camper (and cats) to Washburn, Wisconsin to see a side of Lake Superior we’ve not seen before. Sunday was our travel day and it was 7 hours in the truck, with an obnoxious Siamese letting us know in no uncertain terms, she’d prefer to be left at home.
Well, we made it and set up so we were good there. The temperature went from 85 degrees inland to 65 on the shore (the wind was blowing in) so that made for quite a shock!
Monday was a trip to Madeline Island, a 17 mile bike ride around the island, beers at “Tom’s Burnt Down Bar” (a dive bar in every sense of the word, then a Guinness at the local Irish pub.
Today we hiked about six miles on two different trails to see waterfalls which were pretty awesome. It also showed me just how the weight I’ve gained back does change how I feel as I’m exercising.
Tomorrow we kayak and hike to see some caves formed with Lake Superior ice and Thursday, we see about catching our dinner! Not a bad trip so far! ❤️

Wow! Washburn, WI sounds like a fun and interesting place to camp. We’ve done very little exploring around the Great Lakes, so I enjoyed reading about your adventures. Glad you are out camping and chilling this summer…even with a surly cat!
