We are on Day Four of our Edinburgh/Belfast/Dublin trip and it’s been amazing!
Our first day was rough because of jet lag, but we muscled though. We got our bearings on the Old City, walked on the Royal Mile, ate finish and chips, and went to bed EARLY! 😂
Day Two saw us on a bus most of the day, going to Fort Augusta for an hour boat ride in search of the Loch Ness monster. True, it was a little cheesy, but something is there. Plus, when brought up a sample from the depths of Loch Ness, there were over 400 DNA strands which were unidentifiable. On our way back, we stopped outside of Glencoe to take pictures of The Three Sisters, a magnificent grouping of mountains. And to top things off, we got to feed Highland cows (our tour company was “Highland Coo”.
Yesterday, our last day on our own, we walked, A LOT! First, we slept in! 😁 We walked to the end of the Royal Mile (actually 1.1 miles 😂) and visited Holyroodhouse, the home away from home for the Royal Family. It was an awesome tour and we were very lucky as today, it was closed to prepare for Royal Week. My wife, never one to shrug off an adventure noticed that we were close to what is called Author’s Chair, a spot that over looks the entire city. Since it’s an overlook, it meant a climb, quite a large one. The view was amazing, but wow, I’ve let myself go! We got 20,000 steps yesterday! 😂😯
One of our favorite things, Sunday, after we returned from our bus tour, we went back to the hotel and freshened up. We decided we wanted live music and a pint. Well, Scotland was playing Hungry in a “loser goes home” soccer match. Instead of live music, we found ourselves in the midst of dozens of drunk Scots watching this match and it was absolutely amazing! Something good would happen and the place would go nuts, something bad, something! When Hungry scored the winning goal in the 99th minute of play, the live was sucked out of the pub. So many f-bombs.
And my three new favorite word: “rubbish” and “flanering about” (messing around). 😂
Today, we started with our group and will be with them until we fly out on the 4th of July. More coming on those adventures and a definite mindset change coming too! 🏴❤️
Until then, a few pictures!

Pictures are easy. The real work comes when I start documenting things and connecting dots to life. However, I’m looking forward to that as well! 🙂

What an awesome trip! I love all of your photos and your first hand accounts with the locals. You may not have seen ‘Nessie’ but found some ‘Scot’s Cows’ to photograph.

That was our favorite part, the interactions with people who weren’t there for tourists. Just regular people, doing their thing made it much more real!

It was fun to share this out to people! 🙂 Sometimes, it’s just fun to see what’s truly out there beyond our little world.
