We’ve gotten protective of our Sundays.
Last Sunday, there was live music at our pub, and while it was a fabulous concert (people were actually quiet and listened to the music), neither of us walked in feeling really good about being there.
Why?
Because it was on Sunday.

It’s something like that. We aren’t big church-going people anymore because of bad experiences with pastors, so our Sundays are slow. Coffee, CBS Sunday Morning, laundry, slow meals, or just snacking (usually cheese and crackers).
It’s how we roll. We aren’t about spending the day in church anymore. We aren’t about the added responsibilities. We are just about prioritizing our peace. With all the weird, strange, and violent stuff going on, sometimes, just stepping outside in the early spring sun and listening to the new songs of the birds returning is your peace.

The Sunday Scaries are enough to get us feeling uncomfortable with life. We don’t need anything or anyone else creating more clouds on the horizon. There are plenty there already!

Your Sundays sound wonderful! We really do need to have one day when we protect our time and rest.

We keep wondering whar and why all this violence. The rich and powerful are not satisfied with what they have. Yes, peace is what we all yearn for.

“Prioritizing our peace!” I love that! And that you choose your own way to enjoy this day of rest.
