The frustration, right now, is real.
#uhoh
My list of frustrations:
- It’s Decemeber 3 and the low temperature will be 5 tomorrow night. Cold weather is dumb.
- My basketball teams simply don’t take the game seriously. I got an email from a player who will miss a game Friday. What? This has NEVER HAPPENED to us before.
- My class lacks engagement, period. And I’m not sure how to gain it right now.
- My lack of fitness and accountability. I was terrible as a partner many years ago and haven’t gotten over that feeling of “you suck”. I’ve been part of a January challenge, but last year, I felt like I threw money away because the accountability piece wasn’t there. I’m not sure I’ll do it again because of that.
- Watching the world tear itself apart right in front of our eyes. Romania, Georgia (the country, not the state), Syria, South Korea, Ukraine, and of course, the United States. I’m so tired being part of a period in time with such incredible turmoil.
- Just writing. The words are there, but I’m so dang tired when we get home from basketball.
- Tarifffs. Enough said. They are a tax, period.
- Iowa football and how inconsistent the offense has been forever!
Sorry for grumpy post. I’ll just leave you with this gem I posted on social media!
Happy Tuesday!

I feel your pain with the teaching part. The last couple weeks before my own are rough. You can give a student a good lesson, but you cannot make him try, kinda like the whole lead a horse to water thing:) just a few more weeks. Good luck.

Darin, hang in there! It is not an easy time to keep hope in the era we are living. I know someday future generations will look back at this time with (hopefully–maybe I don’t really know) more understanding and good lessons learned. Hope you win your game on Friday without the one who can’t be there.
