I’m having a really hard time writing and concentrating, so this will be brief.
#uhhuh
Last week, we had a pretty wicked solar storm hit the planet and it set off a spectacular light show here in little old Iowa. We went outside just in time to see the start of the show, so I’m sharing some of my pictures. It was a bright as we’ve seen them since we lived in Alaska 30 years ago.
Either way, our view of the light show. Thank you Mother Nature! β€

We taught there for a year on the western coast about an hour south of Nome. One of the hardest experiences of my life, but one of the best ones as well! I wouldn’t change it for the world. And the Northern Lights there, amazing! π

Wow! After seeing that amazing natural phenomenon, it makes our worries seem so trivial. Thanks for sharing your pictures. We ‘had hoped’ to see them when in Washington last month but did not. But we saw the comet last night! π

We thought the same thing, standing in the middle of our gravel road, watch the lights over head, how small our problems seemed when something like this covers the sky! π
I missed the comet! I saw a couple of picture from local people! I’ll need to look up if it’s still visible over the next few days!

These are gorgeous photos, and you can color (pun intended? pun not intended? I’ll let you pick) me jealous.
I actually drove around my area looking for a spot that was dark enough, but between the light and the clouds in the sky I had no luck.
Thanks for this post!

It was amazing for sure. I felt lucky to witness it because I’d been out earlier and seen nothing. Then, they just appeared! π
