This was the Facebook/Instagram post today. We took our daughter grocery shopping before she headed back to college town. Our task: Wal-Mart, lunch, Adli, not necessarily in that order.

So, we ended up at lunch first. Our normal favorite spot, Fort McGullians, was closed. This place has an incredible pork tenderloin sandwich and cheese curds that, without a doubt, are the best in the entire world. So, with much sadness, we went to another favorite place, Eddie’s Irish Pub. Today’s special, the delicious shrimp po’boy. And of course, the beer.

I love the picture. The hazy background, the brilliance of the different colors, and the quote. It’s from one of Sheryl Crow’s first hits, “All I Wanna Do”. The song is full of joy, happiness, and just a hint of sass. It’s always a choice when we are road-tripping somewhere, anywhere. It just fits.

It fits today too. While I’ve not shaken my Christmas blues (both daughters have left), today felt better. Not the greatest, but better. Tomorrow, we are going to work out for the first time in weeks. Hopefully, I’ll find some solace somewhere.

Until then:

But all I wanna do is have some fun
I got a feeling I’m not the only one
All I wanna do is have some fun
I got a feeling I’m not the only one
All I wanna do is have some fun
Until the sun comes up over Santa Monica Boulevard
