The kids were done on Thursday.

Tomorrow, we teachers are done too.

#doublewhew

At an end of year meeting today, our principal asked about a celebration. My grade partner and I looked at each other and I said, “I survived Year 1!”

My principal then said that while I “survived” she felt as good about sixth grade as she ever had. She knew that the kids were cared for and safe in my classroom, and she could focus on other needs in the building. In the past, sixth grade wasn’t stable, so that focus on other needs had to wait. Our PLC leader also commented on how since we were stable, it brought stability to all the students, something they needed.

That felt good.

I feel like I’m teaching again and that there’s consistency in my educational life.

So, one more day, then a summer to recharge.

We can do one more day! πŸ™‚
